Ben Gürkan Özsoy. 30 Mayıs 1986 Aydın doğumluyum. Yani anlayacağınız sıcak bir Ramazan gününde doğmuşum ve evet, İkizler burcuyum. 🙂 İlk ve orta öğretimimi yaşadığım şehirde tamamladım. Şu an Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Matematik lisans bölümünde öğrenciyim. 2010 yılında başladığım blog macerama 2022 yılında ara vermiştim. Şimdi kaldığım yerden yolculuğuma devam ediyorum.
Ablamı seneler önce, babamı ise 2014 yılında kaybettim.
İlk üniversite deneyimimi 2003’te, Adana Çukurova Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Ekonometri bölümünü kazanarak yaşamıştım. Ancak bu bölümü bitiremedim ve bıraktım. Daha sonra 2010 yılında Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Matematik lisans bölümünü kazandım ve duygusal anlamda çökeceğim 2014 yılına kadar büyük bir başarı ile bu bölümü bitirme noktasına gelmiştim. 2014 yılında babamın vefatıyla başlayan duygusal çöküşüm sebebiyle uzun bir müddet üniversiteyi bitiremedim. Yavaş yavaş toparlandığım 2019 yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi Açık ve Uzaktan Öğretim Fakültesi ilahiyat bölümüne kaydolmuştum. Ama bu bölüme pek ısınamadığımdan kaydımı sildirdim ve 2020 yılında aynı üniversitenin bilgisayar programcılığı bölümüne kaydoldum. 2023 yılında bu bölümden mezun oldum. Bu arada 2022 yılında yeniden YKS’ye girdim. Amacım yarım kalan matematik lisans bölümüne geri dönmekte. Derken o arada öğrenci affı çıktı. Bu sayede 2022 yılı YKS sonucumla Adnan Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Söke Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulu ameliyathane hizmetleri bölümünü kazandım. 2022 yılı için bu bölümün tavan puanı benim puanımdır (358 küsur puandı). Öğrenci affı ile de matematik bölümüne geri döndüm ve artık mezuniyetime bir adım kaldı. Nasipse 2025 başlarında matematik bölümünden mezun olacağım ve ardından hemen, ALES’e girip yüksek lisansa başlamak istiyorum. Bu arada bu sene iki bölüme daha kayıt yaptırdım: Atatürk Üniversitesi Açık ve Uzaktan Öğretim Fakültesi tarih lisans bölümünde ve Anadolu Üniversitesi laborant ve veterinerlik bölümünde aktif öğrenciyim. Açık öğretim okuyarak ne yapmak ve nereye varmak istemekteyim, diye merak ediyorsanız, öğrenmenin yaşı yoktur. Bu bölümlerin bana bilgi yönünden çok şey katacağını düşünüyorum. Belki ileride laborant ve veterinerlikten mezun olunca DGS ile veteriner hekim olmak için veterinerlik fakültesinde okurum.
Derslerden başka hayatımdaki en büyük hobim ve ilgi odağım World of Warships isimli oyun. Bu oyun sayesinde 2.Dünya Savaşı ve gemiler hakkında epey şey öğrendim ve hala öğrenmeye devam ediyorum. Bir ara satranç ve go da oynadım ama bunlara olan ilgim uzun sürmedi. Yine de zaman zaman bu oyunları bilgisayara karşı oynuyorum ve bu oyunlar hakkında da bir şeyler öğreniyorum. Bu arada buradaki “go” bir strateji oyunu. Programlama dili olan go ile oyunu karıştırmayın.
Bunların dışında programlama alanında kendimi yetiştiriyorum. HTML5 ve CSS ile başladım bu işe. Yakında Python’a başlarım diye umuyorum.
Küçüklüğümden beri yalnız kalmayı seviyorum. İnsanlarla aram pek iyi değildir. Geçimsiz ve huysuz biri değilim ama genelde insanları sevmem. O sebeple az konuşur ve insanlarla mümkün olduğunca muhatap olmamaya çalışırım. Sokağımda ve evimde beslediğim hayvanlarım bana arkadaşlık ettikleri için, arkadaş bulma gibi bir derdim yok.
Matematikten nefret eden bir toplumda matematikçi olmak bir ayrıcalıktır. 🙂

I am Gürkan Özsoy. I was born on May 30, 1986 in Aydın. In other words, I was born on a hot Ramadan day and yes, I am a Gemini. 🙂 I completed my primary and secondary education in the city where I live. I am currently a student at Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Science and Literature, Department of Mathematics. In 2022, I took a break from my blogging adventure that I started in 2010. Now I continue my journey from where I left off.
I lost my sister many years ago and my father in 2014.
I had my first university experience in 2003, winning the Department of Econometrics at Adana Çukurova University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. However, I could not finish this department and dropped out. Then, in 2010, I won the undergraduate department of Mathematics at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Science and Literature in 2010, and I had come to the point of finishing this department with great success until 2014, when I would collapse emotionally. I could not finish the university for a long time due to my emotional collapse that started with the death of my father in 2014. In 2019, when I slowly recovered, I enrolled in Atatürk University Open and Distance Education Faculty of Theology. But since I could not warm up to this department, I deregistered and enrolled in the computer programming department of the same university in 2020. I graduated from this department in 2023. In the meantime, I took the YKS again in 2022. My goal is to return to the unfinished mathematics undergraduate department. Then a student amnesty came out in the meantime. In this way, with my 2022 YKS result, I won the Adnan Adnan Menderes University Söke Vocational School of Health Services Department of Operating Room Services. The ceiling score of this department for 2022 is my score (it was 358 points). With the student amnesty, I returned to the mathematics department and now I am one step away from graduation. If I am lucky, I will graduate from the mathematics department in early 2025 and then I want to take ALES and start my master’s degree immediately. By the way, I enrolled in two more departments this year: Ataturk University Open and Distance Education Faculty history undergraduate program and Anadolu University laboratory and veterinary medicine program. If you are wondering what I want to do and what I want to achieve by studying open education, there is no age for learning. I think these departments will add a lot to me in terms of knowledge. Maybe in the future, when I graduate from laboratory and veterinary medicine, I will study at the veterinary faculty to become a veterinarian with DGS.
Apart from my studies, my biggest hobby and focus of interest in my life is the game World of Warships. Thanks to this game, I learned a lot about World War II and ships and I still continue to learn. I also played chess and go for a while, but my interest in these games did not last long. Still, I play these games against the computer from time to time and I learn a lot about them too. By the way, “go” here is a strategy game. Do not confuse the programming language go with the game.
Apart from that, I’ve been educating myself in the field of programming. I started with HTML5 and CSS. I hope to start Python soon.
I like to be alone since I was little, I’m not very good with people. I’m not a difficult and grumpy person, but I don’t like people in general. That’s why I talk less and try not to interact with people as much as possible. I don’t have to worry about finding friends, as the animals I feed on my street and at home keep me company.
It is a privilege to be a mathematician in a society that hates math. 🙂
